About the Tour

As part of the Second Africa Climate Summit, the Host Committee is pleased to offer a guided city tour for summit participants. This optional activity will showcase Addis Ababa’s cultural landmarks, heritage sites, and key institutions, providing an opportunity to experience the city’s vibrant history and hospitality.

 

Participants can select from a range of sites to visit, as listed below. Please note that while some sites have free entry, others may require an entrance fee or payment for specific activities. For more details, contact support@africaclimatesummit2.et .

 

Tour Highlights: During the ACS2 City Tour, you will have the opportunity to visit:

  • Adwa Memorial Museum—A tribute to Ethiopia’s historic victory at the Battle of Adwa, featuring exhibitions on Ethiopia’s resistance and heritage. Entrance fees apply.
  • Unity Park—Located inside the Grand Palace, this park offers a blend of historical buildings, indigenous gardens, a zoo, and a cultural exhibition. Entrance fees apply.
  • Friendship Park – Phase 1 and Phase 2 – Modern recreational spaces with walking trails, fountains, and panoramic city views. Entrance fees apply; some activities may have fees.
  • Entoto Park—Spanning the highlands north of Addis, the park features hiking trails, bike paths, cafés, and adventure activities. Open daily from 7 AM to 9 PM. Entrance: Entrance fees apply; activity fees apply.
  • Addis Corridor Development Project—A transformative urban beautification project featuring riverside promenades, cycling paths, and public art installations. Entrance: Free.
  • National Museum of Ethiopia—Home to the famous fossil “Lucy” and a rich collection of archaeological and cultural treasures. Entrance fees apply.
